I haven't posted a singalong Friday for a while, but when this song came up during a random shuffle playlist on my iPod, it struck me as a timely way to kick start these posts again.
This is a fabulous song, written by Pink and released in December 2006. Despite being incredibly popular, this controversial song was never released as a single in the US, because Pink apparently claimed she didn't want the message diminished by people interpreting it as a publicity stunt.
I love Pink's raw and heartfelt lyrics and the way the song takes such fundamental issues and strips them back to a very personal and heartfelt message. Written originally as an open letter to George Bush, I think there's a timelessness to this song. These are questions we should not be afraid to keep asking.
